Clear Answers

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about buying cars, trucks, and construction equipment from Japan.

How does the 70% bidding deposit work, and is it refundable?

Yes, 100% refundable. To participate in live auction bidding on USS, TAA, JU, and ARAI networks on your behalf, we require a 70% security deposit based on your pre-agreed maximum bid budget. If you are outbid at auction or decide not to proceed, your deposit is refunded in full to your bank account or can be retained as credit toward your next desired vehicle with zero deduction.

Can I see a detailed inspection and video before bidding?

Absolutely. Prior to the auction gavel falling, our bilingual mechanical team inspects the unit in person at the auction hall or yard. We provide an English translation of the official auction sheet, OBD-II scanner code check, cold engine start video, high-resolution undercarriage photos, and machinery hydraulic pressure readings.

What is the difference between FOB and CIF pricing?

FOB (Free On Board) includes the vehicle purchase price, Japanese domestic inland transport, workshop check, export deregistration, and Japan port loading fees. CIF (Cost, Insurance & Freight) includes all FOB services plus international ocean freight and marine cargo insurance to your destination port. We provide clear, itemized quotes for both options.

Do you arrange destination pre-shipment inspections like JEVIC, JAAI, or QISJ?

Yes. Certain countries mandate strict pre-export mechanical, roadworthiness, or radiation inspections before departure (e.g. JEVIC for Kenya/Uganda, JAAI, QISJ for Tanzania, radiation checks for all global ports). We handle all inspection bookings, yard presentation, and pass certification before the vessel is loaded.

How are heavy machinery, excavators, and dump trucks shipped?

We ship heavy machinery through two methods: RoRo (Roll-on/Roll-off) for wheeled or operable tracked units, or disassembled and secured into 20ft/40ft High Cube containers. For containerized machinery, our yard crew builds certified timber cradles and heavy-gauge wire lashings to prevent any movement during ocean transit.

When do I pay the remaining 30% balance, and how do I receive original documents?

The remaining 30% balance is payable once the vehicle is safely loaded onto the vessel and the shipping line issues the draft Bill of Lading (B/L). Upon receipt of balance settlement, the complete legal package—including Original 3/3 B/L, Export Certificate, English Translation, Commercial Invoice, and Inspection Certificate—is dispatched via DHL Express with direct online tracking.
